In ‘ a future beyond the box’, the organisational compactness of the packaging form was described, the shrinkage that assigned a new temporary shape. The assigning of shapes can, if desired, be extended and open up new ways for variational creativity. Whereas previously fixed forms were proposed by designers, in this design scenario the material and its design is optimised in such a way to re-model the material into something else. The previously fixed form(s) can be undone and the user is able – with little real effort- to remove the undesired, imposed form. If the personalised result is unsatisfactory, it can always be reset or left open for a new creative action.
