Egh. My final animation project...so many things went so...so wrong. The initial ideaaa was to have it be this nice residential street where it slowly shifted from late evening to sunset through twilight to night, where the lights in the windows, store fronts, and street lamps slowly start turning on and off pretty in tune with the song I chose (initially one of Four Tet's).
Apparently Maya had other plans for me - the lights wouldn't show up in the bottom windows or street lamps, in all the rendered images IN Maya the sky showed up fine, but in the quicktime versions (as seen here - apparently physical sky and I have issues) it's just...black, which takes a huge part of the mood out...it only rendered some odd 1080 frames out of the 1700 so it's jumpy and the lights are random and not timed at all, so I just had to pick a shorter song.
So, really frustrating, and this is not at all what you're sort of supposed to be seeing, but hopefully the thought or whatever comes across. And on a side note, the street IS more or less based off of Hopper's "Early Sunday Morning"...it was the closest reference I could think of for sort of brownstone houses.
