Welcome to the GIS Cloud Spotlight! My name is Igor and this week's I'd like to show you how to use predefined point symbol sets.
We all know that various point symbols are used to depict features such as buildings, infrastructure, assets, vegetation, water infrastructure etc.
To setup point symbols simply go to the layer properties of your point layer, click on the appearance box and under the Icon tab you'll find several options that help you define point symbology. As you might have already discovered, in the GIS Cloud Map Editor you can manage point symbols by loading your own icons, creating simple custom icon, setting up the density of your points, etc.
In this video I'd like to highlight "predefined symbols" as an easy way to find that icon you need. You can browse predefined icons by various categories such as: accommodation, landuse, sport, water. All predefined icons are vector based so you can also setup custom size and color.
