Figures in the Dust is a multidisciplinary performance exploring the universal themes from John Steinbeck’s Pulitzer-prize winning novel, The Grapes of Wrath. Although this novel takes place in California in the 1930’s and describes the issues of the Dust Bowl Era and the Great Depression, it still resonates with the contemporary life. Figures in the Dust looks at the despair over loss of land, the power of community, the necessity for meaningful work, and the human capacity to overcome obstacles, create change and survive. Figures in the Dust is a creative interpretation of this timeless and timely novel.
