"What right does the mathematics have to describe the universe so accurately," challenged astrophysicist Mario Livio at Gelf's Geeking Out reading series.
June's installment of Geeking Out focused on the interaction between science and religion with speakers including: astrophysicist and "Is God a Mathematician?" author Mario Livio; psychologist Paul Bloom, the author of "Descartes' Baby;" and "The GOD Part of the Brain" author Matthew Alper, one of the founders of the field of neurotheology. The work of local artists will be on display as well.
Hosted by Gelf Magazine, Geeking Out is a free monthly science reading series held at JLA studios in Brooklyn. More information is available at gelfmagazine.com
