One of the things that Jesus, his disciples, and the apostles talked about quite often was "good news." You will often hear people talk of the gospel, which is only another word for good news. Most of my Christian people I have heard about the gospel or "good news." When talking about the gospel, most often people refer to the fact that the gospel message is in the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. This is indeed good news!
As I have studied the scriptures, I've come across quite a few that speak about good news. Luke 8.1 says, "After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God." This scripture and others like it do not reference Jesus' death as good news, but the kingdom of God.
This is what I want to talk about this week. Several years ago we spent some time talking about the Kingdom of God and what Jesus meant when talking about his Kingdom. We are going to spend some time again looking at what Jesus meant when he talked about the gospel, or good news.
