Dave has a life-long passion for streetcars and trains. Listen to his telling of the importance to Bridgeton of having a direct rail connection to Wellston by way of St. Charles Rock Road and adjacent private right-of-ways, and from there to all points in the city. And in the other direction lay St. Charles, after the bridge was opened in 1904. When the first highway bridge opened in time for the 1904 World's Fair in and around Forest Park, Bridgeton was a big winner. Dave is the writer/editor of the monthly newsletter called "Whistle Talk" of the St. Louis Railway Enthusiasts. A sample copy is available at slre.org. Dave is also a volunteer with the Wabash Frisco and Pacific Railroad "kiddie railroad" along the Meramec River in Glenco, MO (see wfprr.com for more information).
