Act 1’s Move! Performing Arts Camp is all about movement and performance. Some of the great entertainers of our time are both versatile and use their bodies very well. Throughout camp students will work on a variety of disciplines including voice and speech, improvisation, physical comedy, acting technique, character development, dance (contemporary and hip-hop) and more. All mixed into a week of intense training that will culminate in a live performance for family and friends.
The arts also can play a positive role in enhancing life skills. Students who participate in our camps will have the opportunity to make new friends, learn to express themselves clearly and confidently and grow as individuals both on stage and off.
The actor must be graceful, the dancer must emote and the singers every move must be as purposeful and energetic as the notes being sung. Move! begins to lay this foundation for young performers while providing a safe environment for them to experiment, stretch their abilities and grow.

Move! July 13-17
Q: What is the cost?
The early registration cost for camp is $85. After July 6th, the cost is $99. Families with multiple children interested in attending will pay regular price for the first child and receive a $10 sibling discount for each additional child.
Q: Where will the camp be held?
Camp will be on the campus of The Church at Chapel Hill in the Student Center. The address is 5357 Chapel Hill Road, Douglasville, GA 30135
Q: Do you require auditions for camp?
Act 1 Drama Camp does not require students audition to participate.
Q: How many students will there be?
We have slots for 30 students in Performance camp. Once we have filled the slots additional students will go on a waiting list. If a student is unable to attend we will contact parents on the waiting list first before re-opening registration to the general public.
Q: What is the dress code for camp?
Students should come comfortably dressed to move around, dance and sweat in. We recommend that you not wear tight, form fitting clothing to avoid exposure of your body to others (for further guidance please refer to our camp rules). In addition we recommend students wear tennis, dance or other type of shoe that supports the foot and ankle with socks (need I discuss the ramifications of a sweaty, growing boys feet in a shoe with no sock to protect us from what's in there?).
Q: When and where do I drop off my children?
Camp will be held at 5357 Chapel Hill Road at The Church at Chapel Hill Student Center. The doors will open at 8:45am and students should be dropped off at the main entrance visible from Chapel Hill Road. All students should be picked up promptly at 1pm from the same location.
Q: Will lunch be provided?
No. However, students will have two break opportunities each day to eat and/or grab a drink and are encouraged to bring a snack or money to purchase from the snack bar that will available. The snack bar carries cereals, pop tarts, chips, candy, smoothies, fountain beverages and bottled water and will be open at 8:45am and during both breaks.
