Painting with spray paint, and acrylic on large scale handmade Japanese Kozo pulp Washi paper. This video documents a painting in progress by Devon Tsuno for curator Kristina Newhouse's upcoming project "Chockablock" at the University Art Museum at California State University, Long Beach.

Los Angeles-native Devon Tsuno paints with spray paint and acrylic. His recent body of abstract paintings on handmade papers focuses on the LA landscape’s non-native vegetation. Tsuno currently lives and works in Midcity, Los Angeles and has exhibited internationally in Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and New Zealand. Recent solo exhibitions include Roppongi 605 (Tokyo) and PØST (Los Angeles) Notable US exhibitions include the Hammer Museum Venice Beach Biennial, Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, Torrance Art Museum, Sam Lee Gallery, PØST, Carl Berg Gallery, Raid Projects, and Summercamp's ProjectProject.
Since 2003, Devon has worked as the founder/director of Concrete Walls, an artist run curatorial project that focuses on building community. He is also passionate about teaching and has been an instructor at CSULB, CSSSA at Cal Arts, Cypress College, Idyllwild Arts, East Los Angeles College and the University of La Verne. He received an MFA from Claremont Graduate University in 2005 and a BFA from Califonia State University, Long Beach in 2002.
