The film celebrates the 10th anniversary of Mubadala by outlining Mubadala’s contribution to various industries over the last decade. Through interviews with the CEO and Managing Director, Khaldoon Al Mubarak; the CEO of Masder, Dr Sultan Al Jaber; the CEO of Mubadala Petroleum, Maurizio La Noce; and the CFO of Mubadala, Carlos Obeid; we learn about the diverse range of industries in which Mubadala’s subsidiaries now operate, which includes natural gas, aerospace, health-care, renewable energy and the production of semi-conductors. The film follows Noura, from Al Ain who is manufacturing parts for the 380 Airbus and must travel to Italy to learn new skills in order to be promoted to manager; Ahmed, a determined 23-year-old Emirati scientist, who is seeking alternatives to fossil fuels and believes that algae is the food and fuel of the future; and Reim Al Za-abi, a focussed Emirati engineer who is working in the world's largest semi-conductor company, Global Foundries. All of these young Emirati professionals are proud to represent the United Arab Emirates and to realise the dream of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nhayan, the President of the UAE who died in 2004. The film also tracks the struggle of Jessica, a European woman married to an Emirati who lives in Abu Dhabi and suffers chronic back pain. She seeks the medical attention of a world- renowned spinal surgeon Dr Chan Shik Shim who performs minimally invasive spinal surgery on her, eliminating her back pain. Through these individuals’ experiences the film reveals how Mubadala has succeeded in diversifying the economy, creating opportunities for the Emirati population and in improving quality of life in just 10 years.
