here's some notes about the shots:
the main challenge of this project is to composite CG elements onto live action background. Several masks were painted to get the right shadow and reflection destribution.
3: the render of the hangar
in the final gather approach: I rendered the final gather information of the two parts of the skylight separately, and then match the animation in compositing stage. This will achieve the desired transition result while preventing the flickering problem if rendered in one pass.
