About CleanTX Power Lunch Series

The CleanTX Power Lunch Series is a monthly educational opportunity to learn about current clean energy issues, technology and policy. The Power Lunch Series takes place on the second Tuesday of every month and is held at the offices of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Each month we host a speaker to address the group on topics ranging from energy technology, finance and market trends, to sustainability, economic development and policy. The focus of each lunch will vary and may cover local, regional, state, national and global energy issues.

- Slide 6 (7:57): It's actually only $50 per year for unlimited electric charging at work or downtown using GreenChoice power, which is based on 98% percent wind energy and complete carbon free. Charging at home on GreenChoice electricity is still six times cheaper per mile driven than gasoline.
- Slide 12 (17:21): In 2020 compared to 2000, solar module cost is 110 times cheaper per watt, solar installed cost is 24 times cheaper per watt.
- Slide 22 (43:50): In 1975 when I was born you could by 15 calculations per second of computing for one dollar. In other words, spending $100 might buy you a calculator that can perform 1500 calculations per second. In 2012, a dollar buys you 280 million calculations per second.
- Slide 32 (39:15): The markup to go from high volume commercial pricing to quantity one retail pricing is typically about 80 percent or a 1.8X multiplier (rather than 56 percent).
