Archibaldo, the spoiled only child of bourgeois parents is caught trying on his mother’s corsets by his nanny. The nanny yells at him and threatens to tell his parents. Archibaldo, not being one to be punished reacts by wishing upon a music box he believes has magical powers, for his nanny to die. The woman is immediately killed by a stray bullet through the window from a revolution raging in the streets below.
The sight of the beautiful young dead nanny with her thighs exposed makes a lasting impression on the young boy. The experience causes Archibaldo to feel his first 'rush', a sexual euphoria that he will try to re-create his whole life by attempting to murder attractive women. However, through a series of impossible coincidences, the objects of Archibaldo's desires and impulses are killed by circumstances over which Archibaldo has no control but for which he feels increasingly guilty.
