Two years ago, Napa, Calif.-native Molly Stevens ’15 begged her parents for an unusual 18th birthday present: fire-eating lessons. Her wish was granted, and she studied the dangerous skill at The Crucible, an industrial arts school in Oakland, Calif. The following summer, she learned how to breathe fire, also known as fire spitting or "dragon's breath." While she'd like to be a professional performer one day, Stevens says she has a ways to go before she's good enough to run off with the circus. But busking is definitely a viable option, she says.
