Meet three young Austria backpackers exploring Western Australia for the first time.
Photos supplied by Claudia, Birgit and Christina.
It's great hitting the road and meeting new people.
A few weeks back I drove up to Kalbarri to hold a workshop.
On the way I stopped to view Red Bluff - a beautiful place where the sea has cut into the red rock, carved and sculptured the giant rocky face.
Just as I was hopping back into my car, a young lady raced up to me and asked if I could take a photo of her and her friends over looking the ocean.
I agreed cheerfully as she passed her camera to me. It was a DSLR, a nice camera to use and so I asked if she enjoyed taking photos. With a foreign accent, she replied that she loves taking photos.
I asked the three travelers where they were from and where they were going to which they were more than happy to tell me.
They were all from Austria, exploring the Coral Coast before going to Perth for study and work.
Their passion and enthusiasm for exploring new places and their love for the Western Australian coast was inspiring and contagious.
I asked if they were willing to talk about their journey and share some of their best photos with ABC Open, which as you can see they were more than happy to do.
Meeting Claudia, Birgit and Christina made me realise how lucky I really am, to live in such a beautiful yet diverse landscape.
One I never want to take for granted.
