What happened next, she I lost her nursing registration for 'breaching confidentiality'. Haywood lost her job and her livelihood. The Nursing and Midwifery Council struck her off whilst the staff who were abusing the patients were allowed to carry on working. Today Haywood teaches qualification and is a first aid instructor and specialises in the protection of vulnerable adults.
How I became a Whistleblower:
Covertly filmed the abuse and neglect of elderly patients in an NHS Hospital for BBC Panorama.
What happened next:
I lost my nursing registration for 'breaching confidentiality'. I lost my job and my livelihood. The Nursing an Midwifery Council struck me off whilst the staff who were abusing the patients where allowed to carry on working. I was eventually given my registration back and the striking off order was replaced with a caution.
What I do now:
I have a teaching qualification and am a first aid instructor /assessor. I am currently running my own training business, teaching nurses and carers all over the UK and specialising in the protection of vulnerable adults.
