Smart phones are an integral part of daily life for most people. Long before the pandemic, courts across the country adopted differing rules and policies as to whether cell phones were allowed into courthouses: some courts have banned smart phones for people without lawyers outright, while other courts have allowed smart phones to be permitted under certain conditions.
