Glacier National Park Biologist, Lisa Bate, spent a majority of their nights catching bats with guest Biologist Cori Lausen from Canada. They caught 3 species of bats in the Belly River area. They caught a majority of hoary bats, which was a rare site to everyone. The Glacier National Park Fund started funding this program for biologists to see how many bat species are in the park, and to see if they are carrying white nose syndrome. White nose syndrome is a fungal growth which grows on wings and muzzles of hibernating bats.
