Michael Smart, co-Founder and Head of R&D is world leader of his hypersonic scramjet technology with 10 years working at NASA Langley Scramjet branch and working over 15 years at University of Queensland as Head of Hypersonics.
David Waterhouse, the Co-founder and CEO, has had 30 years’ experience in the satellite and technology sectors including start-ups and turn-arounds.
Hypersonix Launch Systems was founded in 2019 and has received a commercialisation grant of the Australian government in late 2020 for building a SPARTAN MVP, its fifth-generation scramjet engine.
Our SPARTAN Scramjet technology can be used for a variety of applications, including:
o powered by Green Hydrogen fuel generating no CO2 emissions and a fully reusable launch vehicle reducing waste and pollution;
o hypersonic aviation, drastically shortening the travel time and reducing CO2 emissions;
o any orbit from any launch site, high cadence, and ‘Plug and Play’ use of first stage booster and payloads delivering a sustainable cost and performance advantage in the satellite network refurbishment market.
