Get off the Couch! is a new TV series from Athena Media for Setanta Sports Ireland. It is presented by broadcaster and author Teena Gates and produced/directed by Helen Shaw. The series aim to get people outdoors, active and fit and challenge the idea that some people are sporty and some people are not. Teena, who has gone from 23 stones to half her body weight in just two years, is a living role model for anyone who thinks being active and adventurous is beyond their ability, health or skill. The series will take six people who currently don't do sports or physical exercise and literally get them active, involved and fit. The series is funding supported by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and will begin filming next year, Spring 2013. Anyone who is interested in being part of the project should contact Robert Hope, the production coordinator via email email@example.com and tell why you would be a good candidate to 'get off the couch!'. We're looking for people who may have been unable to do physical activities due to their health, disability, size or equally being put off at school. Anyone who feels left behind where the outdoors is involved but who would love to give it a go and yearns to be fit, healthy and full of energy. Watch the promo film to get a sense of how Teena did it and what it means to her.
Barry MacNeill filmed and edited the short film promo and the team working with him were Paula Cunniffe and Robert Hope. The music is by Michael Gallen of Ana Gog.
