Stanley Thornton was a British cavalryman in World War 2 who served extensively across the Middle East supplying fighting troops by mule and horse. He was later posted to Italy and came under heavy fire at the bloody Battle Of Monte Cassino.
Stanley was awarded to Polish Bronze Cross Of Merit for the way he supported the Polish troops by leading mule trains up to the monastery under very heavy fire. Please visit:
