Between 20th October and 17th November 2012, a team from Nubuke Foundation toured the south of Ghana for the first part of the Jubilee Travel Exhibition. The goal of the tour is to educate SHS students from around the country about the oil industry in Ghana. Students learn about how oil is formed; the history of the oil industry in Ghana; the science and technology behind oil exploration and extraction; the different uses crude oil is put to and how it affects our day to day lives; and the positive effect the oil industry can have on people in the country, including the career opportunities available to those wishing to work in it.
This video shows the Nubuke Foundation team at work, setting up their exhibition in various schools and educating the local students. It also includes a number of interviews with students and teachers talking about their experiences of the exhibition and some of their thoughts about it.
