"Working Memory" is a portrait of Shirley Jorjorian, an artist and former songwriter who had been living with Dementia for more than 10 years when photographer Jim Reed began visiting her. The project combines photographs with scans of papers and other items found in her apartment as well as altered pages from a standard test given to assess the various stages of Dementia. It examines identity's relationship to memory and the absurdity of photographic and other forms of preservation.
