Randall has the following tips for Canadian investors looking overseas:
-Trade between the US & Canada is falling (US accounted for 85% of Canadian exports, now it is less than 75%)
-Growth of exports to emerging markets is now more than 12%
-Start with BRIC nations and look to entry markets, e.g. Mexico for opportunities
-Look at South by South trade
-Columbia is very approachable for business
-The World Bank classified Columbia as being in the top 5 countries in the world for investor protection
Randall is fully behind ExpoPlaza Latina as a way of fostering dialogue and developing relationships between trade partners in Latin and North America.
