The Sheriff's Chaplain program is partnership with various faith-based leaders in our communities. Deputies and chaplains work together during times of crisis to provide a more comprehensive service to those in need.
Sheriff's Deputies, Dispatchers and employees face an extraordinary amount of stress in protecting our communities.
The primary role of chaplains is to listen, as well as provide comfort, advice and referrals. They don't push any agenda or religion.
Chaplains also serve as a liaison and bridge, a calming presence in certain situations to serve our diverse communities.
Chaplains volunteer their time to support those who serve and protect. If you're interested, we'd like to hear from you. Visit sdsheriff.gov/volunteer.
