The Drenthe artists Loes Heebink (Kolderveen), Esther Schlebos (Buinerveen) and Gejan Stol (Assen) were selected as artist in residence for the Push / Pull / Present project in Leipzig (Germany), Murcia (Spain) and Rotterdam at the end of 2020.
They were encouraged by K&C Drenthe and CBK Emmen, from the Artist in Space program of We The North, to develop artistically by spending a month in a guest studio in an urban environment.
In addition to accommodation, the artists received a stipend for travel and accommodation expenses and the organization in the host country arranged coaching and cultural meetings, enabling the professional artists to expand their (inter) national contacts.
A reflection of these working periods can currently be seen at the CBK De Fabriek in Emmen and will be open to the public from 26 May to 11 July. The artists have been working from March 22nd and have used this lockdown period as an extended residency to attune their work to the space and each other's work. This has created a nice cohesion and also new (joint) works.
A virtual tour, the "walkabout" is a teaser to make the public curious about the experience of the works in the space. As soon as it is allowed to receive a public again, the artists and the organization of the CBK De Fabriek Emmen, welcome everyone to visit.
