From inspiration to creation to performance, the computer plays a central role in video art. The romantic image of a painter feverishly working on a massive surface is increasingly supplanted by the image of a digital artist hunched over on a computer at a coffee shop, using tiny gestures to debug software or move pixels. This is what I look like at work.
