Great Oaks Landscape designed and installed landscape at The Louis and Fay Woll Memorial Bible Garden at Temple Beth Ahm. The staff at Great Oaks teamed up with Gail Roberts, who we commissioned from Arizona to create a bible garden which has gardening enthusiasts and people of all faiths gathering to observe.
The Louis and Fay Woll Memorial Bible Garden, in West Bloomfield, Michigan is largest bible garden in Michigan and most recognized for its innovation and artistic beauty. The Jewish News coined the phrase “The Garden of Inspiration” which made the cover of The Detroit Jewish News. The garden displays many biblical and botanical themes. “The garden allows visitors to experience multiple biblical themes and view some of the plants, trees, and flowers mentioned in the Bible," said David Goodman, executive director of Congregation Beth Ahm.
Great Oaks Landscape used actual plant and tree species noted in the Bible in order to make a truly historical piece of art. The artwork and identifies the species of plants, flowers and trees by both their biblical references and botanical names.
Gail Roberts is one of the most respected garden artist in the nation with a speciality in religious gardens. Her beautiful handcrafted pieces of art all were biblical representatives of the gardens attributes. She added her renowned artistic style, which has made her one of the most popular bible garden artists in the United States.
“I wanted to honor the memory of my parents by creating something of beauty, of spirituality, of renewal and of celebration, which could be connected to the unending living link of the Jewish people,” - Douglas Woll
