This is a short film that a group I am a part of made for a competition called Film Fights. The group is called The Crew and we are part of the University of Southern Miss. The theme for this competition was childhood nightmares. I was the director of photography on this film and we won the competition. During this shoot one of the issues that arose was getting the lighting to not be too bright yet still illuminate the subject. Unfortunately, the lighting kit had no filters and so I improvised. I took one of actress' scarfs and covered the lights with it. When we had to shoot from a different angle, but didn't want the light to change on the side we had just shot, I did the same thing with a similar scarf of hers. I set up the other lights on the side we needed to light up and put a different, but similar colored scarf on the the lights. The scarfs were blue, which helped with the keeping of the nighttime feel. Even though this video is a minute and thirty seconds, it took about five hours to shoot.
