Here Gabbi demonstrates a calf drop off a step. This exercise is often given if you have been diagnosed with a tendonitis, tendinosis or tendonopathy. Eccentric exercise helps to strengthen the tendon. IF you push up with the strong leg transfer your weight across to the symptomatic side then use the symptomatic side to lower body weight by dropping the heel. Transfer your body weight across to the ‘good’ side before repeating. Your practitioner will tell you the amount of repetitions and sets. Generally 10-15 r repetitions at a time for 3 sets is standard. This is to be repeated for a number of weeks as you get stronger carry a weight to increase the load.
