Sr. Kate is a canon lawyer who assisted parishioners from dozens of U.S. parishes and around the world with successful canonical appeals to keep their churches open. This catalyzed a monumental change in Vatican policy, moving away from automatically accepting bishops’ decisions to close and sell vibrant churches because of the priest shortage or property values.
