The Strange Case is a short film created as practice for GSU film students Fernando Mattos and myself, Glen Sutton. Fernando had the idea based on a short story by Dolce Vita and wrote a screenplay from it. Together we collaborated on how to expand the story and Fernando updated the script and I developed storyboards based the script, our discussions and ideas I had during the pre-vis process. He then sent it to Dolce for her input as well, and once the final script and storyboard were completed we gathered the cast and scouted locations and proceded to shoot the film with Fernando directing, and I was script supervisor, DP and camera operator. I shot it on my Canon t3i and I edited it on an i7 iMac using Adobe Premeire Pro CS6. I wrote and performed the score (I use Reason 6.5.2 as my composing software). The score is an homage to music I love by Brian Eno, Roger Eno, Harold Budd and Ólafur Arnalds and in this film, is meant to convey a sense of longing, blissful distraction, and/or loneliness.
