Original Exhibition "Tropes and Tale Tales of the Modern Man"
A box is a box, a coffin is a coffin.
A tire catches the light like this,
it’s ridges grow separate and sticky with use.
Gold in the sky looks one way,
on steel another,
in water a third.
A man is stubborn, or at least predictable,
and goes on resisting the values of contingency.
He must always part rearguard against the truths he has stumbled
on and in turn accept them as lies.
