432nd Civil Affairs, Operation Provide Comfort (long)

The 432nd Civil Affairs Company, a U.S. Army Reserve unit from Green Bay, Wisconsin, was activated for Operation Desert Shield (the first Gulf War) in 1990. The 432nd deployed to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and, after Operation Desert Storm, in spring, 1991, to Turkey and northern Iraq as part of Operation Provide Comfort (the Kurdish humanitarian relief effort).
