What few tourists and New Yorkers come down to South Street Seaport and Pier 17 now find more boarded up shops, restaurants, and reconstruction work to look at and take pictures of in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Consolo, like other real estate experts, is closely watching how this landmark area will weather this latest storm. "People want to be optimistic. But this would be the third turn for the Seaport. It may just not happen. Who knows," Consolo said.
