Still in the water, though this time a bit warmer, lets explore the perseverance behind an original pioneer of Moab’s climbing. During the late seventy’s Jake Traniak established classic routes inside and outside of the deserts of Moab. An advocate for hand drilling and down climbing, though he no longer climbs to the extent that he once did, he still generates the same feelings that the climbing once did, this time however, through rafting. Jake was diagnosed with arthritis at the age of nineteen, since that point, minus the two years he was unable to walk; he’s descended over 1500 miles of white water. His accomplishments inside of the water and on the rock are tremendous, and so is his story
