So I grew up in central Washington in the cascade mountains, so I have always been fondly familiar with the local amphibian population. So I was excited when this project arose. Over the course of a year I traveled with CWU grad student named Amber, crawling through the muck, mud, snow and thorns to catch, tag, and track these little buggers. Local middle school students were also heavily involved with Amber's research, showing the benefit of in-the-field science education. This was my first "nature" project and it really got me into the joy that is wildlife photography.
