Being unable to breath. Air. Walls and windows covered in plastic. Suffocation. Breaking free of inner and outer confinement. Battling loneliness, insecurity, and despair. A state of existential limbo, longing for the light to break through.
・THE LONE BODYBUILDER CARING FOR HIS PHYSICAL APPEARANCE・
Self-centered with an everpresent focus on looks and self-representation. Appearing strong, muscular, and sensual. Observing himself in the mirror with profound self-confidence and admiration. Unable to display his hard-earned physique to others, the almost Joker-esque smile fades into oblivion.
・THE YOUNG DANCER MOVING WITH ELEGANCE・
A force, energetic and graceful. Almost hovering across the floor. A symbol of youth, frustrated with the global status quo. There’s something to believe in, something to fight for, progress to be made. Her steps become increasingly agresive, yet alluring. But as the blazing light illuminating her dies out, gloom takes over.
・THE OLD BOTANIST TENDING HER ORCHIDS・
Creating a self-sustaining ecosystem, the old botanist provides life, light, and air to a jungle of orchids. She’s the old mother earth, nurturer of life. Without her, the balance is tilted and the system becomes unstable and uninhabitable. Layers of plastic slowly oscillate, breathing in, breathing out. A soft, synthetic flutter, a psychedelic hallucination. She removes her protective helmet. Air. Euphoria, if only for a moment.
・THE MAN IN THE ATTIC PERFORMING RITUALS・
An alchemic symbol is etched into a box. Coving himself in chalk, summoning light from above. The man in the attic performs a mystical ritual known as the inverse Vitruvian Man. Flipping the world upside down, standing on his head, the man appears weightless and godlike. Stasis is lost as the blinding light fades.
