This child begins by plunging the upside-down funnel in the bowl. There is some resistance as she pops it out of the water. About halfway through the video, she puts her index finger over the funnel's hole. Because of that, air cannot displace water as she lifts the funnel. As a consequence, she meets more resistance because she is lifting the water up until the funnel is completely out of water. She then tries to put the funnel back in the water. Her finger is still over the hole, so the air in the funnel displaces the water. It is harder to push the funnel down and it keeps wanting to tip to let water into the funnel. That is a a nice little experiment for a two-year-old.
