I live in Atlanta GA and took a week long slackline adventure in Yosemite and Sacramento California. Started out at a highline festival in Sacramento made possible by Jerry Miszewski, owner of Balance Community, Grant Thompson, Chris Rigby and so many others. Walked my first highline and found out Grant and Jerry were planning on taking a trip to Yosemite to rig some 3000 ft highlines at Taft Point. They offered to take us a long and we graciously accepted. They rigged 3 highlines. One was 60 ft. across, another 100 ft, and scariest the 170 footer. Aching fear and adrenaline over powered my mind and body. I felt so small and exposed sitting 3000 feet in the air on a one inch wide, 60 ft., strand of nylon webbing. The thought of standing up felt like a death wish, even though I was strapped in and completely safe it didn't help my conscious much. Pretty much the most epic highline trip ever. I didn't walk a single line and that was fine with me. I do plan on returning and conquering my fear and having the most amazing experience not many people can say they've shared.
Special Thanks to my slackline brother, Chris Wilson.
