this is one of my favorite videos yet, because everyone who is important to me is in it. since i went home halfway through the week, it’s split between seattle and california.
since i’m spending almost the entire month of december at home, christmas was very rushed in seattle. there was tradition a week ago which is a school wide christmas party with “tree lighting”, a dance party, cocoa, and so much more. it was raining and most of it was outside so henry and i sat inside and drank hot chocolate for a while. then we watched white christmas with some people from his floor. i left halfway through to go to sleep. kenneth and i took a much needed study break and ventured to the woodland park zoo. we’d never been and kenneth scored the tickets on his flight back from tennessee when he struck up conversation with a women who worked there. we went to all the exhibits and we were both very happy we went. on the eve of the first day of finals, our floor advisors put bags of snacks in front of our doors with a little note from our parents. i was mystified and could not for the life of me figure out how they did it. i spent the last week in seattle listening to a lot of lana del rey because she epitomizes california for me. henry’s formed quite a habit of falling asleep on my couch, which i think is really funny. i just sit at my desk and do homework while he naps. i went to a final study session with my small film class. the entire class is pictured, minus one or two people. i really liked that class and i’m sort of bummed that it’s over! i gave both kenneth and henry j. crew socks for christmas and kenneth has taken to wearing his quite often seeing as they’re his favorite color, orange. he also has his coldplay records on display in his room which i really appreciate. the boys’ floor keeps all the lights off now, and put up christmas lights. it’s one of my favorite things. as a celebration that finals had ended, kenneth and i bought tickets in the fall to deck the hall ball at key arena. we made new friends named tom and julia that are siblings and are very witty. i enjoyed the nine hour show, especially passion pit, m83, and metric’s sets. the space needle looked beautiful when we finally got out of the arena. the next day i flew home! it was a beautiful day to fly. my first meal was in-n-out, which was something i had been looking forward to for weeks. kenneth got me little bow earrings with pearls in them and i am absolutely obsessed with them, to say the least. it’s been so nice having my own room back, and it’s been sunny here every day. then friday i took the train to see my best friend jessica. it was so perfect seeing her. we went to balboa and had ruby’s at the end of the pier because it was their anniversary so food was cheaper. on our way back off the pier there was a seal just making friends so we said hello. we spent time with lindsay and marcell after they got out of school which was fun. we went to fashion island and took pictures by the huge christmas tree. i ended up missing my train on the way home so they all waited for the next train with me. and then i saw bradford yesterday, who has taken photography as quite a hobby. we have the same brand of camera so we talked about that for a bit. i wore one of my favorite necklaces to church today, my mother found it under my bed. i just really enjoy the sun and being home and going to coffee at augie’s and just being in a familiar place for a while. but i know that i’ll be happy to be back in seattle in january.
