Mr. Barrack, as Chairman of Colony Capital, LLC, has invested approximately $48 billion in assets around the globe. Today, Mr. Barrack oversees a global organization located in 11 cities and 9 countries.
Prior to the formation of Colony, Mr. Barrack was a Principal with the Robert M. Bass Group, the principal investment vehicle of the Fort Worth, Texas investor Robert M. Bass. Mr. Barrack also served in the Reagan administration as Deputy Undersecretary of the Department of the Interior. Additionally, French president Nicolas Sarkozy awarded him France’s Chevalier de la Legion d’honneur. Mr. Barrack sits on various private and public boards around the world.
Mr. Barrack received a B.A. from the University of Southern California, attended the University of Southern California Law School and the University of San Diego, and received a J.D. in 1972. Mr. Barrack is a Trustee at the University of Southern California.
Louis G. Conforti is Global Head of Real Estate for UBS O’Connor, the alternative investment management division of UBS AG. Louis also served as Senior Portfolio Manager of O’Connor Colony Property Strategies (OCPS), a stand alone hedge fund partnership with Colony Capital, a leader in real estate investment management with eleven offices and 250 employees worldwide. Prior to O’Connor, Mr. Conforti was Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Investments at Stark Investments; his predecessor real estate hedge fund, The Greenwood Group, was merged into Stark Investments. Previous positions include President and Chief Financial Officer of Prime Group Realty Trust, a publicly-traded real estate investment trust, during which he led a corporate restructuring and subsequent privatization; as well as with CIBC World Markets and Alex. Brown & Sons within real estate investment banking.
Mr. Conforti serves as a Director of the Simon Youth Foundation and is active in several real estate and alternative investment professional organizations. He resides in Hyde Park with his wife and two White Sox and Bear loving daughters. Louis graduated from Lake Forest College and attended the Graduate Schools of Business and Sociology at the University of Chicago.
