Meneer en mevrouw Hond tonen trots twee prachtige taarten. Samen met een bont dierengezelschap vertrekken ze voor een gezellige picknick. Maar dan gebeurt er iets onverwachts...
In 13 afleveringen volgen we de uiteenlopende gebeurtenissen telkens door de ogen van een ander dorpsbewonertje, zoals bijvoorbeeld de bazige meneer Bulldog, de ritselende ratjes Toon en Daan, de flirtende mevrouw Kat, de behulpzame maar o zo onhandige zuster Varken, het fantasievolle konijntje Vincent en de ijdele mevrouw Poedel.
Op de DVD die binnenkort zal uitkomen (november 2013) staan alle 13 afleveringen en een speciale lange aflevering van het dappere Vosje van 25 minuten.

Picnic with Cake is an animated series and cross media adaptation of the famous picture book “Picnic with Cake” by Thé Tjong-Khing, published in more than 13 countries. The animation series consists of 13 episodes of about five and a half minutes and a special of 25 minutes.
Mr. and Mrs. Dog have baked two delicious cakes for a picnic with all their animal friends. But once they arrive at the picnic spot... The cakes are missing!
Each of the 13 episodes, as well as the special, tells the central storyline of the picnic, the discovery of the stolen cakes, the unmasking of the thieves and the happy ending with cake. Every episode of the story is told from the perspective of another animal. In this way the picnic story takes the shape of a thriller, a slapstick or a romantic comedy all tailored to the level of understanding of our target group.
The series aims at children between the ages two and six. Each episode is around five and a half minutes long. The special is about 25 minutes.
The iPad game 'Picnic with Cake – Little Fox's hunt for cake' is based on the special. Little Fox wants to bake a cake but all the ingredients are stolen. By playing the different games you can win back the ingredients from the bad guys Lizard and Frog. When you have collected all the ingredients you can bake the most delicious cake in the world.
