David has been working in Adhearsion (and Ruby) for about 1.5 years now. He recently built a telephony framework in Adhearsion 1.0 that currently handles approximately 5,000 calls/day. The company he built the application for has tasked him to architect a re-write of the same app in 2.0 with a new team member.
Adhearsion has by far been the most exciting project David worked with and with all the new tools he has armed himself over the past year, he is ready to get more Adhearsion in his life.
Why did Adhearsion cross the road? To answer the phone.
Lessons learned from 1.x to 2.x
There have been a lot of lessons learned in our time spent in Adhearsion. Applying some basic object oriented techniques, testing, and the new framework that Adhearsion 2.0 has blessed us with, this session will illustrate not only how porting a 1.x app to 2.x is easier than you think, but also how to take advantage of a lot of Adhearsion’s new features.
Testing has become a no-brainer and as such this session will touch on its importance and some of the techniques we use.
