Water is our First Home is a dance film at a rare time in life for Molly: at 9 months pregnant. With her creation of a solo song and dance in the Penobscot River of Maine where ocean meets fresh water, it is an ode to the steady calm and meditative state it will take to give birth. And in reality, this song is a duet with her baby, and an ensemble dance with ancestors and all of creation. Touch is the first sense to develop in a baby, and the water of the womb is a baby’s first home.
