Theatre Movement Bazaar's The Treatment is an interdisciplinary theatre work based on Anton Chekhov's short story, Ward 6. This adaptation uses a new text, song, dance and movement to tell the story of a complacent doctor of a remote mental hospital who befriends a philosophizing madman, but as the doctor’s worldview is upended, society’s prescription is to make him a patient in his own ward. Created by TMB co-founders Tina Kronis (director/choreographer) and Richard Alger (writer). Set design by Jeff Webster, Costume design by Ellen McCartney, sound design by John Zalewski, lighting design by Chris Kuhl. Co-produced by and premiering at The Theatre@Boston Court in Pasadena, CA. 2011. Ensemble Mark Doerr, Jake Eberle, Nich Kauffman, Mark Skeens, Matt Shea, and Jacob Sidney.
