The Okavango Delta is the largest inland delta in the world. The Kavango River, with its source deep into the eastern highlands of Angola, collects its valuable cargo of fresh water and transports it to the center of the Kalahari Desert. It is here, within the Okavango Delta, that this water either evaporates or is consumed by the expansive dry Kalahari Desert which lies to its south. It is here that this river fans out into a myriad of channels and large open floodplains. Alongside these are a wonderful network of tree lined islands which form the important home to some of Africa's richest wildlife and bird-life populations.
It is in the heart of the Okavango Delta, on a small island named Nxaragha, that Camp Okavango is located. As with the other Desert & Delta Safaris properties, Camp Okavango is run and managed by some very special people who love the environment that they are in and endure to make every visitor feel at home in this peaceful and pristine environment.
This video captures the serenity of this very special eco-system, a water wilderness, as described and presented through the honesty and enthusiasm of the people of Camp Okavango.
