On December the 13th, at 7am at Henley Beach in South Australia, surrealist artist will create his latest and most worthy “Surreal Installation” entitled “Doorways to Potential”
As the night makes way for the sun’s first light, 15 crimson red doors will be illuminated across the Henley Beach shoreline. Framed in the doorways will be suited volunteers including Alexander Downer, Iconic TV personality Jane Doyle plus numerous luminaries from varied fields of endeavor.
The installation will symbolically highlight the work of International Charity Common Ground, based in New York and now flourishing throughout Australia!
Common Ground take the homeless off the streets, sets them up in a unit then assist them to achieve a career.
The red doorways symbolize the entrance to a new base, the suited luminaries show how far you can go in your chosen career. The pristine beach backdrop and the distant horizon symbolizes the greater infinity and endless opportunities.
Earlier this year Andrew created a Guerilla installation by lining up a dozen toilets along an Adelaide beach with seated volunteers as a protest to the lack of toilets in this busy precinct. Last year, He put a small herd of alive and kicking Friesian cows in the Indian ocean as an opening to an International Dairy Conference in WA. Not long after, he covered Bondi Beach with hills Hoists complete with mums hanging out their washing. In 2009, He enticed the West Australian Symphony orchestra into the surf at Cottesloe, to play a symphony ion the sea, literally! in 2007, Andrew lined up 250 suited & bowler hat wearing Melbournians in the shallows at StKilda beach…
