Because policing involves human beings, human errors can occur. Sometimes mistakes happen along the chain of command, and it is critical that officers train in scenarios where they need to assess the situation, understand applicable case law, call dispatch for clarification, de-escalate the situation, and maintain or repair community relationships when situations go awry.
