This dynamic webinar will provide an introductory overview of Medicaid, examined in the context of chronic disease prevention services. Medicaid is the largest health insurance program in the U.S. and serves beneficiaries with low income. As such, Medicaid can be a major policy tool used to advance health equity as poverty is one of the strongest factors associated with poor health status. This webinar will include examples of Medicaid coverage for chronic disease prevention services, including the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) and Self-Measured Blood Pressure (SMBP) for cardiovascular health.
